This painting is about holding each other close through the high winds and the bitter cold. Cherishing moonlight and fading warmth and deep woods and the ancient spirit that holds and remembers the stories we have forgotten but desperately need. It’s about sitting back to back, eyes in every direction but the warmth of your person against your skin while you watch through the night. Intimacy within resiliency, trusting someone in hard times that require vigilance and not much rest.

It is a beautiful and wild thing to be alive in this world, and what a gift to be able to be amongst friends and companions to make the wild woods and vast sky a home.
