A fine art gicleé print on thick cotton rag paper. Half inch border on all sides, edges hand deckled. 

There is a lot of thought that went into painting this, my favorite of the sisters. Like many, these mountains feel personal after years of sitting under their watch, in many poignant moments. I am not a skier, but find myself often sitting on rocks looking on as the sun moves and the clouds gather and pass. I have seen North carry many a storm, and say goodnight to the sun over her shoulder many times. There is a safety and a protection in those arms that gather up the land, and release it, ever changing her face, but remaining in her stance.

I am certainly not the first or the last to paint North Sister, but I hope this painting feels the way it does to me - like an old friend, vibrant and wild, watching your back against the storms to come.
