A scene from Joshua tree - after the sun had slipped beyond the horizon and left the white granite warm and shadowed, yet still holding so much light. I struggled hard to bring this piece into cohesion - changed the angle of the light, the dominate colors, the direction of the brush strokes. Finally got it to a place where it felt that the painting that was trying to come through, came through.

This piece holds the deep stillness of stone, a gentle invitation to breathe with the ancient truths that ground us to life and breathe and connection.
