one of my most endeared paintings. slicks left by (as I understand it) the Anasazi Nation. Here they ground their grains to meal, baskets underneath to catch the remains. i stood in awe for some time, an later on, dared to paint this sacred scene. a legacy left by a people we no longer know, made by strong and caring hands. this place and this painting bring me to a humble and awed feeling. 2024.
