The yellow speck in the bottom center of this piece is an open flame. This series of paintings is meant to hold the tension between the afterlife and the living blaze of flesh and spirit coming together in the great expanse of time and the great beyond and before. Essentially, the many ages before us and those that will come after, held in recognition alongside the importance of a single life well lived.
